  21.     Introduction.
  22.     -------------
  23.     Doctor on Disk, the Computerized Medical Book, was developed by Emerald
  24.     Coast Software to allow you to quickly determine what illness is suspected
  25.     when you or your family start showing symptoms of sickness.
  26.  
  27.     An enormous amount of time was spent in research and programming to assure
  28.     that the diagnosis presented will be accurate. As with any illness, you
  29.     should consult your physician at the first symptoms of sickness.

  33.     Index of Symptoms.
  34.     ------------------
  35.     The index contains over 615 entries arranged in alphabetical order.
  36.     It may be searched by using the Up/Down arrow keys, PageUp/PageDown keys,
  37.     Home/End keys or by pressing the letter on the keyboard that corresponds
  38.     to the first letter of the symptom listing.
  39.  
  40.     When the letter is pressed, the index list will immediately be positioned
  41.     at, and highlight, the first listing in the index that begins with the
  42.     letter pressed. If the same letter is pressed again, the next index
  43.     listing that begins with the letter pressed will be highlighted.

  45.     This will go on until the last listing in the index beginning with the
  46.     letter pressed is highlighted. Pressing the same letter again will once
  47.     more place the cursor at the first listing that begins with the letter
  48.     pressed and it will again be highlighted.

  50.     When the desired index entry is highlighted, pressing the <space> bar
  51.     will select the entry by placing a "tick" mark to the left of entry. If
  52.     you press the <space> key again the "tick" mark will disappear and the
  53.     entry will be de-selected.

  55.     You may select as many as six symptoms at a time. You must select a
  56.     minimum of two symptoms. The more actual symptoms you select, the more
  57.     accurate the diagnosis will be.

  87.     NOTE: You must select ACTUAL symptoms of an illness before the computer
  88.           can determine which illness to display.

  90.           If you select symptoms at random, you will probably be told that
  91.           no illness with the selected symptoms was found since we have gone
  92.           to great lengths and tremendous amount of research to assure that
  93.           the normal symptoms for an illness are the only ones that will
  94.           select it.

  96.     If you select six symptoms and the computer determines that a large number
  97.     of illnesses are common to those symptoms, you may narrow the diagnosis
  98.     by selecting three or four of the first selected symptoms and then select
  99.     one or two different symptoms.

  103.     Index of Illness.

  105.     The index contains over 695 entries arranged in alphabetical order.

  126.     Order Latest Upgrade.

  128.     We at Emerald Coast Software are constantly striving to improve all of
  129.     our software. We will be adding new features, new listings, etc. as time
  130.     and disk space permits, while keeping our software user friendly.

  132.     Each program we release is as complete as we can make it at that time. We
  133.     receive input from our customers and usually attempt to incorporate their
  134.     suggestions for features and/or improvements into a subsequent version.

  136.     Once a software program is released, we do not stop working and attempting
  137.     to improve it. We will usually have an upgrade of most of our software
  138.     within six months of each subsequent release.

  140.     Upgrades are usually offered at one-half price (or less) of the full
  141.     purchase price.

  152.     Change Emergency Numbers.    ( Registered version only )

  154.     These are the emergency numbers that are constantly displayed on the
  155.     screen while the user is in the menu mode.

  157.     The user may customize the emergency phone number layout to best suit
  158.     the user. The user may have the listing reflect their desired description
  159.     for each listing and the order in which they are listed on the screen.
  160.  
  161.     Up to twenty one names and phone numbers may be displayed on the menu
  162.     screen in the registered version.
